10 things you can do now to prepare for an influx of calls!

We know it may be a slow time right now, here's 10 things you can do to help prepare you for an influx of calls and website visits.

When storms hit, you'll see an uptick of leads and website traffic. Here are 3 things that will help get you found when they start looking.

  1. GOOGLE PROFILE
    Update your Google profile immediately, check to make sure it's accurate for your address, hours, and your industry category should be GENERATOR SHOP and your secondary category is ELECTRICIAN.  Also, add photos, videos and post weekly.
  2. TAKE SOME PICTURES AND VIDEO
    Have your techs take pictures.  People want to see you and this (believe it or not) can help speed the process of getting a phone call.  Put those photos and videos on your website, social media, and Google Profile. A HOW-TO video would be ideal!
  3. GET REVIEWS
    I can't stress this enough.  It's important to start soliciting your happy customers for a Google Review.  you can get a 'shareable link' from your Google profile to send them.  You may need to do this one at a time.

Here's 3 things you can do now that will help get in front of potential leads, some outbound ideas...

  1. EMAIL
    We are seeing great success in emailing an old list of leads, customers, and prospects with offers on a bi-weekly basis.  You may be pleasantly surprised what you can stir up from simply sending an email.  Next week I'll send information on how to create an email campaign and get it started.  Use an offer like, 100% financing, Free estimate, free first time service with a service agreement, etc.
  2. MODEST GOOGLE AD CAMPAIGN
    Easy to set up and cheap!  Start with $500 for the month and you should get some leads.  Refer back to my email from last week for more detail, or check my blog page about setting up a Google Campaign.
  3. FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM
    Get back to your social media!  Share pics and videos (your how-to videos if you have them).  Post twice per week and make sure you share it with your family and friends and have your team do the same.  In and around the area!

Now, they've found you, but this doesn't mean they're ready to buy, so it's important that you provide them with all of the information their looking for AFTER they've found you.  So that means we need to update your website.  Here's 4 things you need to do now...

  1. Check the form on your home page and make sure it's on your home page and not just your contact page.
  2. Answer the top 5 questions on the home page.  i.e. how much does a generator cost, how long does it take to install, what brands do you install and what brands will you service, etc.
  3. Let's write up some reviews and put them on the site.  It's better to have them in Google, but you have to actually have people do that.
  4. Create a new 'call to action' that offers information into your 100% financing if you offer it.

If you agree that doing all of this will help bring leads, then you're leaving money on the table if you don't do it.
